The upper part is not a figure the operator publishes: it is consumption minus the electricity domestic generation fed into the grid. The country has no other source, so the remainder enters through the connection with its neighbour. It is a subtraction, not a measurement — and it is not the neighbour’s consumption, which appears nowhere here. calculated

Electricity generated inside Monaco
The waste-to-energy plant — the only electricity generation physically measured in the Principality among everything published.
In 2025 the plant generated 9,470 MWh, or 1.75% of the Principality’s electricity consumption. The rest comes through the French grid.
Original figures in kWh: 7,871,800 / 301,200 / 3,694,600 / 8,273,400 / 9,470,400. Note (2) of the yearbook: in 2022 output fell sharply because of a breakdown of the turbo-alternator set that lasted most of the year.
Not all of what the plant generates reaches the grid: it consumes part of it itself. The two are shown apart because “sold to the grid” and “generated” are different figures in the source. The seaWergie heating and cooling networks do not appear here — they consume electricity, they do not generate it.

HPH and HCH are winter peak and off-peak hours (November–March), HPE and HCE the summer ones (April–October). POINTE is the winter peak: two hours in the morning and two in the evening, December through February.
