Inferred, not measured. Utility-scale solar farms do report, so we know their capacity factor right now — 60.2%, meaning 2,045 MW produced from 3,395 MW installed. The same sun falls on the whole country, so we apply that factor to the prosumers' installed capacity.

The farms' reference capacity is 3,395 MW — the highest output measured in the past year. The official figure, 2,788 MW at the end of 2025, has fallen behind: it is published once a year, and more farms have been built since. The margin is tens of percent: a roof does not have a solar farm's tilt, and shading and snow are not in the calculation.

Why there is no live output here. A household's panels sit behind the meter, so they never enter the system's operational data — they read as lower consumption, not as extra generation. A number ticking over by the minute would be a weather model times installed capacity: an estimate that looks exactly like a measurement. We have the capacity; we do not have the model.
Where the figures come from

Prosumer counts and installed capacity by county: ANRE prosumer status report, table 6, with figures as of 30 June 2026. The regulator publishes it monthly.

Energy sold and prices: the transaction characteristics tables in ANRE — the electricity market's monthly reports — the “prosumers” row in each buyer category's table. Most recent edition: May 2026.

County outlines come from Natural Earth, public domain, matched to the figures on county code rather than name.

Prices are in lei per MWh, as the regulator publishes them. The rest of the site works in euro per megawatt-hour; converting would need an exchange rate as a source, so the figure stays in the currency it was reported in.
