Accessibility
What we have done to make the site usable by everyone, and where we know there is work left.
What works
- No JavaScript needed. Every page is complete and correct as rendered by the server. The interactive charts, the hover ring and the automatic refresh are layers added on top; without them, static drawings with the same figures remain.
- Keyboard navigation. A “skip to content” link is the first focusable element, and focused elements have a visible outline.
- Not colour alone. Import and export are distinguished by word and by shape, not only by red and green.
- Reduced motion. Animations stop if your system asks for reduced motion, and the direction of the flows stays legible while still.
- Text, not images. The figures are real text, selectable and readable by screen readers.
Where there is work left
- The complex maps have short descriptions; a full tabular alternative for every map is not yet everywhere.
- We have not yet had an independent WCAG audit. What is written above is what we verified ourselves, not a certification.
