UKAEA installs a 12-tonne box at Culham that doubles MAST Upgrade’s tokamak heating to 8.8 MW

Engineers at the UK Atomic Energy Authority have moved into position at Culham the “double beam box”, the vessel that will house two more neutral beam injectors for MAST Upgrade. Neutral beam heating power rises from 4.4 to 8.8 MW, and scientific experiments are due to begin in 2028.
