interconnected means ENTSO-E publishes physical flow between the two countries' zones — that is, there really is a cable with energy running through it. neighbour on the map means only a shared border. The two do not coincide: Norway and the Netherlands do not touch, yet have a subsea cable.

How to read the figures on this page

The price shown is the wholesale day-ahead price: what electricity costs on the exchange, before network tariffs, levies, VAT and the supplier's margin. A household bill is higher, and the ratio between them differs from country to country and from contract to contract.

“Average price” means the average weighted by the duration of each interval. Until 30 September 2025 the intervals were an hour; from 1 October 2025 they are a quarter of an hour. A plain average across that boundary would weigh a quarter of an hour like an hour.

The days when the clocks change have 23 or 25 hours, and the summary computes them with their real length, not with an assumed 24.
